My name is Roberta Holehouse McGuiney, and I have over 25 years of playing and coaching experience in the sport of volleyball. My philosophy on coaching was formed at a young age having been taught by coaches who focused on technique over results and pushed me to never settle. My competitive nature and love for the sport created an opportunity to play for the highly decorated and prestigious Penn State University Women's Volleyball team. During my time as a libero and defensive specialist at Penn State (2005-2008), we won 2 NCAA Division 1 National Championships and 4-Big Ten Championships, setting a record for most consecutive sets won in a college season; an NCAA record that still stands today!
After playing overseas professionally, I found a love for sand and grass volleyball and continue to play throughout the summer. At the same time as I was focusing on my doubles game, I was given opportunities to coach for local universities, and fell in love with coaching. Eventually I found myself building a career in club volleyball. Volleyball created so many incredible opportunities and relationships in my life, and I feel it is only right to give back to the sport, training the next generation of players. For those reasons, I am excited to bring you PoweR.HOUSE Volleyball, a program based on a legacy of excellence.
